Route: Tongyeong & Hansan Island → Namhae → Yeosu → Jindo & Haenam
Tour Type: History & Heritage Journey
Admiral Yi Sun-sin (1545–1598) is one of Korea’s most respected historical figures. During the Imjin War, he led the Joseon navy through some of the most important naval battles in Korean history.
The inspiration for this tour came in part from discovering the Yi Soon Shin graphic novel series by American creator Onrie Kompan. Seeing how the story of a Korean admiral could inspire readers far beyond Korea led us to a simple idea: instead of only reading about Admiral Yi, why not travel to the actual places where his story unfolded?
This journey takes travelers to the coastal cities, islands and historic sites connected to Admiral Yi’s battles and legacy, turning history into a journey through the landscapes where it happened.
